After having my third boy destroy our house I decided he needed something to release his energy on. This kitchen has helped! Since he is a small almost two year old, the size is great and his older brothers also enjoy playing with it. The style is great, not girly at all. I had to convince my husband that kitchens are fine for boys, and that he could use his tools to put it together. Overall we have enjoyed it, the doors seem to not shut all the way, however the boiling and sizzling sounds are cute. Its a compact size and fits wonderfully in the corner however it makes for not much space for storing food and dishes. The price is very good for Little Tikes.
After visiting the doctor’s office, and realizing how much my 23 month old son loved to “bake” cookies while in the waiting room, my husband and I decided to purchase a kitchen for him for his 2nd birthday. We looked around and this was the one that caught our eye. It wasn’t too big, it wasn’t loaded down with sounds and it was neutral colors…perfect for boys or girls. As soon as we put it together, it was played with until bedtime. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it was a little hard to put together. My husband had to cut some plastic excess off before he was able to put the counter top on, as it was hindering the two pieces from being flush. He also had a hard time putting on the refrigerator door….hopefully that means that it will stay on! There isn’t much room for storage, which is alright since we were planning on getting a plastic bin to put next to the kitchen set for all his food, utensil and pots/pans additions anyways. Doors are easy to open and sounds are easy to operate, even for a not-quite 2 year old (recommended age is 3+). I also like how it fosters his imagination, requiring him to make most sounds by himself (such as the running water sound, which he seems to have mastered). Overall, I found this product very durable and very entertaining, even for myself as my son and I can “cook” together!
My grandkids, Rheanna age 3 and Robby age 2, love this kitchen. I bought it for Rhea for Christmas and Grandpa put it together. Or rather he started and my son helped finish. Takes some umph to put it together but everything was on solid. It is roomy enough for the kids to play together without fighting. Rhea says, “I cook, he gets to wash the dishes.” but doesn’t take up a lot of space in her room.
