I got this for my 4 year old son after he had played with one of his friend’s Jam N Plays and he couldn’t be happier!
Calling it an MP3 player is pretty misleading though…you cannot add any songs to it.
Otherwise it is fabulous. The songs are great classics (Bear went over the Mountain, Twinkle Twinkle, etc…) that my son can easily sing along to and the volume, even at it’s loudest setting, is perfectly suitable for his little ears. You can also hear the music when the headphones are unplugged so my son will carry it around like a little radio all day singing.
Perfect for any little music lover in the family!
My 5 yr old son got this music player for Christmas 2 years ago. It went through both him and his brother, now 4, and continues to work extremely well. My boys are as rough as they come. The songs have no singing, just tunes of old familiar children’s songs but that is one of the best features of the product. My boys enjoy just listening to the tunes because they are familiar with them or can become familiar with them easily and they enjoy singing along either alone or with mom and dad for fun. encourages confidence in singing and memorization of words. I’d say ideal for 2,3,4 yr old. very easy for a samll child to use independently which is great for mom and dad. perfect for car rides!!! works with headphones but can also listen without. great volume control. I looked for a second one for years. I would have even bought another one this Christmas if I had found the ad before now.
At the time of this review, the list price is $21 and I wouldn’t have paid that or been happy if I did. I bought one at Walmart for roughly $8.50 and at that price, it’s a great toy. It has 21 songs programmed into it. For $21, I would expect to be able to load additional songs onto it but at $8.50 it is what it is. The buttons are easy to operate and my 2 1/2 year old was using it independently after about 5 minutes.
Fun little toy.
