This nifty little baseball trainer helps your child develop accurate hitting skills, muscle tone and hand/eye coordination. As your child’s skills improve, the Auto Pitch Batting Trainer transforms from an easy-hit T-ball set to an automatic pitch up machine, One push on the foot switch releases 5 time-delayed balls in a row, and an audible signal indicates when the next ball is coming. Bought this as a birthday present for my 2 year old grandson. It’s a really big “hit” for him, his 5 year old sister and neighbor kids!
When I noticed that my son really had good natural form around 3 and 1/2 years old, I bought a T-ball set. He played with that quite a while and eventually started hitting the T alot and I figured out that he was bored with it and wasn’t focusing. When he got the chance to play with this at a friend’s house, I could not pry him away. SO…we bought one. He hit better with this than the T, even though the target is moving, this toy is just so much more entertaining and more at his level. Ours works perfectly. Will it last for ever, probably not, the ball shoot is a little loose and the balls are very light weight and got marks from wear on them the first time they were hit, but the balls have not stuck once, they shoot out pretty much within a hittable range consistantly, and the functionality is appropriate for 4 year olds to operate alone, (or mom can play outfield and get a workout, like at our house.) 5 balls are perfect, a perfect nice number of tries for each child’s turn. The motor on the unit is programmed to eject 5 balls, no more, no less, whether there are 5 in there or not, so you will have to train your child not to hit the button without the balls in there or near by to load quickly, because once you hit the button the motor will not stop until it has run through the whole sequence. It also allows us to stage a baseball game for the kids and help them with the rules and form without any of the adults pretending we can pitch! I only gave it a “4″ because I firmly believe that for almost $30 the quality of the pieces could be a little better, but it does function well a few days into owning it, I really believe that it is helping my son improve his skills, it offeres independant and family play time, AND my son LOVES it, so, I would highly recommend it and if ours breaks I love it so much that I will buy another one. I would also recommend checking out the Fisher Price version of this, Triple Hit Baseball, as it looks very similar but with a pitching mode. I wish I had seen it first to at least compare. A great active toy, for every child.
This is great, got this for the Grandson’s 3rd Birthday and he is have a blast with it. He just loves it.
